Severe energy crisis due to historic drought.

Writer: CLAMOR SaCLAMOR Sa

Ecuador has been enduring a significant energy crisis for over a month, with daily power cuts lasting up to 10 hours. This challenge is the result of a historic drought—the worst in more than 60 years—that has drastically lowered water levels in the reservoirs powering the country’s hydroelectric plants. Since these plants generate about 70% of Ecuador’s electricity, the shortage is severe.

Small businesses are particularly hard-hit, with many expressing that this crisis feels even more devastating than the pandemic, as they are unable to produce goods consistently. Experts predict that the situation could last until at least April 2025.

In these difficult times, we are standing firm in prayer, trusting that God has greater plans for Ecuador. We believe we will witness His glory unfold through this. We invite you to join us in praying for rain, as we cling to His promises.

“Yet he has never left himself without clear evidence of his goodness. For he blesses us with rain from heaven and seasons of fruitful harvests, and he nourishes us with food to meet our needs. He satisfies our lives, and euphoria fills our hearts.” ‭‭—Acts‬ ‭14‬:‭17‬ ‭(TPT)

Despite the challenges, we had an unforgettable night at "Arco Sings in Family!" Our four Cuenca congregations came together for a powerful concert, lifting their voices in unified praise. Each moment was a celebration of love and unity in Christ, and God's presence moved mightily, touching hearts through every song.

All proceeds from the event went towards supporting Arco's radio station, 96.9 FM, helping us purchase new equipment. For nearly 22 years, this station has been a vital evangelistic tool, spreading the good news and impacting countless lives—far more than we could ever imagine!

Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Psalm 105:2 (ESV)

We want to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has stood with us during these challenging times. Your prayers, participation, and generosity are making a difference, both in our community and beyond. As we face this ongoing crisis, we continue to trust in God's faithfulness and His plans for Ecuador.

We humbly ask for your continued prayers—specifically for rain to replenish our land, for strength to endure the power shortages, and for our nation to be drawn closer to Christ during these trials. If you feel led to support our mission further, your donations to Arco’s radio station, 96.9 FM, will help keep the good news on the airwaves, reaching lives and spreading hope.

Together, we believe that God will restore and renew Ecuador. Thank you for standing with us in faith!

Blessings,The Arco Ministry Team
